Nabors Drilling - Kharyaga, Russia

BACKGROUND

Nabors Drilling started operations with half meshed Frame Relay based network which provided Nabors with WAN connectivity between rig sites in Russia and regional office in Moscow to meet their operational requirements. In 2009 Hermes offered Nabors to redesign their network to provide better efficiency and management of fully meshed, dedicated bandwidth network over three sites in Kharyaga.

PROJECT

The project consisted of three sites across Kharyaga field located in Nenets region behind Arctic Circle including life support camp and two rigs. The network required internet, data and voice capabilities over a fully meshed VSAT network.

SOLUTIONS /  SERVICES

• Developed a solution to provide Nabors with cost efficient VSAT network to meet their internet and data requirements
• Used Skywire technology to create full meshed private satellite network with bandwidth sharing on demand by all sites within network
• Full meshed topology enabled direct telephone calls between remote sites via one satellite hop which resulted in no delay during conversation
• 24/7 network monitoring and point of contact for any network queries or requests
• Assigned an Account Manager to provide advice and support as and when required
• Provided client with web access to the system monitoring and statistics
