Hermes Secures Fluor Contract for Sakhalin, Russia
January 2010
Hermes has secured a contract from Fluor to design, supply and install an Entertainment System for a Multi Purpose Building at Odoptu Oil Field, Sakhalin, Russia, for operations on the Sakhalin-1 Project.
In designing and installing the Entertainment System, the work will include a Satellite Receiving and Headend System and a Cable Distribution System.
Commenting on the contract, Natalia Alexeeva, Senior Account Manager, Russia said "We are confident that Fluor has chosen Hermes to supply the Entertainment System because of Hermes' 5 year experience in Satellite and Cable TV in Sakhalin. We have already provided a number of communication systems for Fluor in Sakhalin and we are pleased to continue to offer an excellent service to Fluor".
The first phase of the Sakhalin-1 project began tapping the oil & gas reservoirs in October 2005 by Exxon Neftegas Ltd (ENL). Fluor was responsible for engineering, procurement and construction management of an onshore processing facility (OPF) for ENL. Hermes has been working with Fluor at Sakhalin since 2003.
The Entertainment System will be installed on Odoptu, one of 3 oil and gas fields off the northeast coast of Sakhalin Island in the Russian Far East.
