Hermes wins contract from PETRONAS
February 2010
Hermes is pleased to announce that it has won a contract from PETRONAS, the national oil company of Malaysia, to provide voice and data comms via satellite in Turkmenistan.
Mohammed Abdul-Ajij-Rashid, Operations Director, Malaysia, explains "Hermes is providing voice and data comms from Ashgabat and Kiyanli in Turkmenistan back to Malaysia including a back-up link to the UK. PETRONAS require comms in extremely remote areas and terrestrial forms of comms are not reliable enough in these circumstances. Hermes provides efficient, fast and reliable comms in difficult and challenging environments, paramount for the day to day running of operations for PETRONAS in Turkmenistan. We are thrilled to have won this contract and look forward to providing service in Turkmenistan".
The contract is supported by Hermes engineers in Turkmenistan, Malaysia and Hermes 24/7/365 Service Desk in the UK.
