PSN extends its Global WAN contract with Hermes
July 2009
Hermes is thrilled to announce the extension of the contract won in 2006 from PSN, a major global service contractor to the oil and gas sector. The 3-year contract is a continuation of the WAN communication network Hermes has been providing PSN since their successful buyout from KBR in May 2006, which made PSN one of the top 10 largest private Scottish companies.
PSN has over 37 offices and now employs over 8500 people working in over 26 countries worldwide. Hermes' geographical spread, technical ability and round the clock professionalism won the original contract and delivered the ideal customised solution.
When PSN was formed in 2006, it required a completely new wide area network to cover its forty sites worldwide. As Hugh McIntyre, of PSN, said at the time, "We knew the key to success was choosing the right outsourcing partners. We chose Hermes as our WAN partner because we knew they had the capability to deliver service in some of the most difficult locations in the world, whilst at the same time being responsive and committed to meeting our needs".
Hermes objective is to aim to reduce the cost of communications wherever possible, to maximise customer profitability, and to ensure that we keep them for the long run.
Kay Ravenscroft, Account Manager for Hermes boasts "Hermes provides PSN with a responsive, high quality network monitored and supported 24/7, with real time access and periodic reports detailing performance against SLA, problems and issues and recommendations - all you would expect from an in-house WAN manager at a fraction of the cost".
